Two Music Videos Filmed in NYC: Which Do You Like More?
We filmed two music videos—one for my song “One More Chance” and another for my song “Not Just Me”—both in NYC. But they are VERY different from each other, you’ll see. I need to know which one of these two music videos you like better, and why. Could you take a quick glance at these two videos and let me know which one is your favorite and why? Leave a comment in the comment box below the videos to let me know, thanks!
ONE MORE CHANCE
Interesting Details: I entered “One More Chance” in a songwriting contest and won 1st Place, and the prize was a Takamine acoustic guitar—the one I’m playing in the video. Also, we filmed the Washington Square Park footage on an actual Super8 film camera from the 80’s that we bought for only $3!
NOT JUST ME
Interesting detail: during one of the takes at the opening of the tunnel, a small crowd, of the few people enjoying the serene & snowy December weather in Manhattan’s Central Park, gathered around behind the cameras to watch & listen while we were filming. The tunnel made for great acoustics and the sound really resonated. After that take, they applauded and I got to meet and talk to them all… it felt like an actual planned performance. It was probably my favorite “show” of the year!

(As a thank you for taking the time to give me your feedback, here is an unreleased mix of “One More Chance” that my talented engineer friend Jeff put together. This mix is not the one on the album or in the music video, it’s slightly different and I think it has a cool vibe & unique sound. Right-click here to download: One More Chance – Jeff Taylor Mix)

One More Chance. Not sure if you’re asking just about the video or also the song, but for the video, I like how One More Chance goes back and forth between the different kinds of shots/effects/filters to maintain interest — and it’s easier in general to keep up that momentum for a shorter song. They’re both lovely.
I like the first one better. I just think that rooftop scenery is cool and the song is catchy.
Thanks Michael! Glad you like “One More Chance”… I wrote that song on the last day of a decade thinking back over the last 10 years. And I was really lucky with the music video, a friend of mine lived in that building and let us film on the rooftop.
They’re both great songs specially because it’s filmed in one of favorite cities.
I’m choosing “Not just me” Your voices and the acoustic guitar sound so beautiful and I love the violin/chelo in the background. Also the lyrics is more personal to me.
Thanks for the input Elly! Cool, glad you like “Not Just Me”, and yes, NYC is so beautiful, it’s my favorite place to film music videos (as is evidenced by the fact that ALL of my music videos so far have been filmed there lol)
