Bio
Born and raised in Dallas Texas, Stuart Todd Whitworth dove into music at an early age learning to play the piano at age 5, guitar at 13, and writing his first songs at 15. After studying music theory at the University of North Texas, he delved into orchestration and studied film composing with a retired Hollywood film composer. Driven by a love for indie pop-rock songwriting and orchestral music, he set out to combine the two.
After his well-received single “Happy” Stuart continued to compose and write his most treasured batch of songs to date. His single “One More Chance” then earned 1st Place in a songwriting contest along with the grand prize of a beautiful Takamine acoustic guitar.
The two most consistent elements in every one of STW’s songs are strong melodies and lush string arrangements. The motifs and moods encapsulated within include contemplative lyrics inspired by reflecting over the ups and downs of the past decade, to more raucous songs written about wishing the girl next door would join you for a drink at the bar, along with recurring themes of love, life, loss, and longing.
Leaning cinematic and with a tendency to push the musical boundaries of what pop typically offers, Whitworth’s recent collection of songs lends itself extremely well to onscreen visuals which has fueled the creation of the numerous accompanying music videos.
Currently residing in Southern California, Stuart pushes onward in his obsession with the fusion of rock & orchestra while eagerly awaiting the end of the pandemic.
